One of the projects I set out to do this year was to learn to shoot and process timelapse. I realized a few weeks ago that I had only made two and the year was already a third gone. So the last couple of weekends I have tried to spent a lot more time working on them. Mainly, I have been trying to nail down the whole process from capture to post. Trying different settings to create smoother sequences and working on more efficient workflows. Admittedly there have been many more failures than successes but I have learned something from every attempt.
The weather this weekend was less than ideal with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Things finally calmed down Sunday and I was able to get out for more than ten minutes without getting soaked. Late Sunday evening another storm system moved through the area giving me one more opportunity to practice. While the second half of the storm never materialized, everything came together and I got the sequence I wanted.
